Racism has flared up again in Australia. Recently, an Indian man was attacked over a car parking dispute under the name of ‘Varna Vivaksha.’
Shortly after, hate graffiti appeared on the Swaminarayan Temple in Melbourne, featuring a Hitler portrait and the words "Go Home Brown." Similar hateful messages were also found at two Asian restaurants.
The local Hindu community strongly condemned these acts. Makarand Bhagwat, president of the Hindu Council of Australia, described the temple vandalism as a direct attack on Hindu identity and a violation of religious freedom.
Indian Student Attacked
On July 19, 23-year-old Indian student Charanpreet Singh was beaten near Kintor Avenue in central Adelaide. He was attacked while visiting the city’s light display with his wife, apparently in the name of Varnavivaksha.
