Trump, Japan Seal Trade Deal With 15% Tariff And 550B Investment

President Donald Trump said the US has reached a major trade deal with Japan, including a 15% tariff on Japanese goods.

Under President Trump’s directive, Japan is set to invest $550 billion into the U.S., with Trump asserting that America will gain 90% of the profits.

The trade pact also grants American exporters greater access to Japanese markets, including automobiles, trucks, rice, and various agricultural goods.

Trump highlighted the deal’s reciprocal framework and projected that it would generate hundreds of thousands of new jobs in the United States.

This comes amid pressure to finalize trade pacts, following recent deals with the Philippines, Indonesia, Britain, and Vietnam.
