Tech CEO calls for people-first reforms in the industry
A tech CEO has called on the industry to adopt people-first digital transformation, stressing that innovation must balance technology with culture, ethics, and long-term value. The head of California-based Epik Solutions said that as artificial intelligence and automation accelerate change, the real challenge is not access to advanced tools but how responsibly and thoughtfully they are used.
CEO Ashish Kataria noted that many transformation efforts fail because organizations overlook workforce acceptance and company culture. Citing research from Gartner, he pointed out that nearly 70 percent of digital transformation projects do not succeed due to poor cultural alignment. He emphasized that technology should simplify work, respect human values, and quietly support people rather than overwhelm them.
Kataria highlighted Epik Solutions’ own approach, including flexible remote work, a focus on employee well-being, and investments in climate-focused technology such as wildfire prevention projects. He linked this strategy to global concerns over burnout and disengagement, referencing the Gallup finding that only 23 percent of workers feel engaged worldwide. As AI adoption grows, Kataria urged leaders to start small, simplify processes, and design transformation that benefits people, communities, and the environment.
