Yuliia Svyrydenko Appointed as Ukraines New Prime Minister

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has named Yuliia Svyrydenko as the new Prime Minister, marking the first leadership change in the role since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

This strategic shift is aimed at strengthening domestic defense capabilities and accelerating economic renewal.

Former Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal will now head the Defence Ministry, succeeding Rustem Umerov.

Svyrydenko, previously serving as Economy Minister, played a central role in securing vital international agreements and is expected to prioritize drone innovation, post-war reconstruction, and support initiatives for Ukrainian citizens.
