Canberra, USA: Macquarie University has announced the recipients of the prestigious NRI scholarships under the Australian Government's New Colombo Plan, designed to foster international collaboration and strengthen ties with neighboring countries. Three Indian-origin students are among those awarded these scholarships, which provide opportunities for cultural exchange, global networking, and professional development.
The scholarships promote student mobility in the Asia Pacific region, with recipients gaining essential skills to shape their personal and professional futures. Professor Rorden Wilkinson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), emphasized the university's commitment to nurturing a global outlook in its students.
The Indian-origin students awarded the scholarships include:
- Megha Mahesh, pursuing a double degree in Information Technology (Cyber Security) and Security Studies, will study Hindi at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and intern with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.
- Manav Khatri, studying Applied Finance and Economics, will study at Waseda University in Japan and undertake mentorship with the Australian Ambassador to Japan.
- Sachi Russell, a Marketing and Media student, will focus on Japanese language studies at Waseda University and intern with Tokyo-based advertising agency TBWA\HAKUHODO Inc.
