Former Singapore Minister Eswaran Faces New Corruption Charges

Indian-origin former Singaporean minister S.Eight new corruption charges were filed against Iswaran (61) on Monday. Eswaran faces 35 charges, including the 27 charges filed in January. A week after he left for Australia with the court's permission, new charges were filed against Iswaran. Eswaran was recently accused of taking expensive bottles of whiskey, golf equipment, and a bicycle as bribes from a builder named Lum Kok Sung. He allegedly received expensive gifts from another builder, Ang Beng Seng, in the past. Eswaran maintains that he is innocent of all these charges.
