How to book Mumbai Metro Train Tickets By Using Whatsapp,Ticketing for Eco-Friendly Travel

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) has launched a new eco-friendly ticketing service via WhatsApp for Metro lines 2A and 7 in Mumbai. Passengers can easily purchase tickets by sending "Hi" to 8652635500 or by scanning QR codes available at the stations.

This innovative system aims to minimize wait times at ticket counters and improve the overall travel experience for commuters. Metro Line 2A connects Andheri West to Dahisar along the New Link Road, while Line 7 runs from Andheri East to Dahisar via the Western Express Highway. Since their launch in April 2022, both lines have served the northwestern area of the city.

To utilize the WhatsApp ticketing service, commuters can simply message "Hi" to the provided number or scan the QR code at stations to access the ticketing platform. This initiative is expected to encourage digital ticketing, streamline passenger journeys, and offer an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional paper tickets.

Currently, more than 200,000 passengers use Metro lines 2A and 7 every day, with a recent peak ridership of 292,000 passengers in a single day. Sanjay Mukherjee, metropolitan commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), highlighted that the new WhatsApp ticketing feature will help decrease queues at ticket counters and enhance the commuting experience. He also mentioned that approximately 62 percent of passengers currently opt for QR tickets, while 3 percent use mobile QR tickets, and 35 percent utilize the NCMC card.
