Chicago, Illinois, USA: Kalpesh Joshi, Upper Midwest Regional Director of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), has been honored in the official U.S. Congressional Record by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi in recognition of his leadership in the hospitality industry and his longstanding commitment to community service.

According to AAHOA, the recognition was entered into the official proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives, highlighting Joshi's achievements as a successful hotel owner, hospitality leader, and active community advocate across the greater Chicago area.

A first-generation hotel owner, Joshi has operated Motel 6 and Sonesta branded hotels for nearly two decades. Throughout his career, he has earned recognition as a self-made entrepreneur known for supporting fellow hotel owners while contributing to the growth of the hospitality sector.

Joshi has served as AAHOA's Upper Midwest Regional Director for the past three years. In addition to this role, he is a member of the association's Government Affairs Committee and has served on the G6 Hospitality Owners Advisory Council since 2012.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi also acknowledged Joshi's extensive civic contributions, including his work on the Illinois Governor's Asian American Employment Plan Advisory Council and the advisory board of SEWA International. His support for initiatives promoting economic opportunity, small businesses, and community development was also highlighted.

In the Congressional Record, Krishnamoorthi praised Joshi's dedication, stating that his contributions to the hospitality industry and local communities reflect the values of hard work, civic engagement, and opportunity that strengthen the nation.

AAHOA President and CEO Laura Lee Blake also congratulated Joshi on the recognition through a LinkedIn post. She described him as a respected hotelier and entrepreneur who has spent nearly two decades serving both the hospitality industry and fellow hotel owners through his leadership within AAHOA.

Blake further noted that Joshi's commitment extends beyond business through his continued involvement in public service and community development. She added that the Congressional recognition reflects the positive impact AAHOA members make not only within the hospitality industry but also across the communities they serve.
