Nayab Singh Saini Elected Haryana CM as BJP Pursues Historic Victory

Nayab Singh Saini has been elected as the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Haryana Assembly, following a decision made on Thursday. His nomination was put forward by senior BJP leaders Anil Vij and Krishan Bedi during a gathering of newly elected Haryana BJP MLAs at the party office in Panchkula.

The meeting included notable figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who acted as central observers. Other prominent attendees were Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, and co-in-charge Biplab Deb.

In the recent Haryana Assembly elections, which encompass 90 seats, the BJP won 48 seats while the Congress secured 37. The results of the elections were made public on October 8.

Saini is set to take the oath of office as Chief Minister on Thursday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expected to attend the ceremony.

In preparation for the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for October 17, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh and party Haryana affairs in-charge Satish Poonia conducted a separate review of the arrangements in Panchkula on Monday. The meeting also included former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and former Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia.

Following the meeting, BJP leaders inspected the preparations at Dashera Ground, the venue for the oath-taking event. Officials have indicated that stringent security measures will be in place at the location.

Sanjay Bhatia, the coordinator for the ceremony, emphasized that October 17 will be a historic day for Haryana.

The BJP is poised to form the government for a third consecutive term. Bhatia remarked that the public's endorsement of the progress achieved in Haryana is reflected in their repeated victories, underscoring the unwavering trust citizens have in their government.
