Guru Nanak Fellowship Launched at Oxford for Sikh Heritage Research

Britain, UK: Wolfson College, Oxford University, has introduced the Guru Nanak Stipendiary Research Fellowship to promote international research on Sikh heritage. Supported by the UK’s Punjabi Sikh community, Dr. Jaskiran Kaur Bhogal has been named the inaugural fellow, commencing her role in February 2025.

Dr. Bhogal, a London School of Economics alumna, specializes in Sikh diaspora studies, focusing on spirituality, family practices, and cultural preservation. Her work includes an ethnographic study on British Sikhs and explores how Guru Nanak's teachings influence daily life, particularly in childbirth, homemaking, and child-rearing.

This fellowship underscores the Sikh community's dedication to preserving their heritage and promoting academic exploration.
