Jessie Sunner, Harwinder Sandhu, and Sunita Dhir have been appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries in British Columbia. 

After adding four members of the Indian Diaspora to his new Council of Ministers, Premier David Eby of British Columbia has named these three women of Indian origin to serve as Parliamentary Secretaries.

To help streamline the operations of the 27-member Council of Ministers, including 23 Cabinet Ministers, David Eby has appointed 14 Parliamentary Secretaries. Among these, individuals of Indian descent have secured important positions.

Jessie Sunner, a first-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), trade unionist, and human rights lawyer, will oversee Anti-Racism Initiatives.

With strong ties to agriculture and her deep connection to the farm sector, Harwinder Sandhu has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture.

Sunita Dhir, a dedicated social activist who has been supporting newcomers to Canada, will handle the portfolio of international credentials. In this role, she will address the challenges immigrants face in getting their academic qualifications recognized in Canada, ensuring that international degrees are equated with Canadian standards.

In addition, Amna Shah, a woman of Asian descent who relocated from Malaysia, has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Mental Health and Addictions.
