Mason, Ohio, USA: Indian-American tennis player Vignesh Gogineni is set to make his professional tournament debut at the 2026 Cincinnati Open after receiving a wild card entry into the qualifying rounds. The 22-year-old Yale University graduate from Mason, Ohio, was announced among the tournament's wild card recipients by organizers ahead of the prestigious ATP event at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

Currently ranked World No. 1,097, Gogineni must compete in the qualifying matches to earn a place in the tournament's main draw. His selection follows an impressive final collegiate season at Yale, where he posted a 28-8 record and finished as the Bulldogs' highest-ranked player.

The Cincinnati Open marks a significant milestone in Gogineni's career, as it will be his first appearance in a professional-level tournament beyond the developmental circuit. Having developed his game near the Lindner Family Tennis Center, the young player will now make his professional debut at the same venue.

Also receiving a qualifying wild card is Cincinnati native JJ Wolf, who returns to the tournament after a two-year absence. On the women's side, local players Peyton Stearns and Caty McNally are also scheduled to compete. Stearns captured the ATX Open singles title earlier this year, while McNally won the Charleston Open doubles championship alongside Desirae Krawczyk.

The Cincinnati Open qualifying rounds are scheduled to begin on August 11, with the tournament concluding on August 23.
